Tournament Rules

The tournament will be played according to HPA Rules and Regulations
All matches will be played on handicap; the handicap range of the tournament is -8 to 0 goals
Teams can substitute players in between chukkas provided the handicap of the team does not exceed the level that it began the match with
The teams may play with any combination of males and females

PLAY FORMAT

Size of the field:

300 yards x 160 yards.
(Include safety zones: 30 yards at both ends and 10 yards at the sides)

Teams will be seeded into two leagues according to the handicaps. Each team will play off against the other 2 teams within the league. Points will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Order of merit within the leagues will be decided according to Annex D in the HPA Rules.

All league matches will finish on the first bell of the 4th chukka. Apart from the Final, all matches played on Saturday 25th July & Sunday 26th July will be decided by a penalty shoot-out if scores are tied at the end of the 4th chukka.

The two teams finishing in 3rd place in each league will play off on Saturday 25th July to determine 5th & 6th place. On the same day, the semi-finals will be:

The top team from League 1 v 2nd team from League 2
The top team from League 2 v 2nd team from League 1

On Sunday 26th July the Subsidiary Final is between the two losing teams from the semi-finals. The Final is between the two winning teams from the semi-finals. If scores are tied at the end of the 4th chukka, an extra chukka will be played. If still tied at the end of the 5th chukka, a penalty shoot-out will be taken to decide the champions.
